July is inspired by one of the greatest American body builders: Mike Mentzer. In 1978, Mike was the first (and only) person to receive a perfect score at Mr. Universe. Mentzer had a signature training styling called HIT- high intensity training (not to be confused with HIIT) or it was also called Heavy Duty. The idea is a quick, but brutal workout with a heavy emphasis on good recovery. Compound lifts progress but remain at lower intensities in an effort to prevent excess fatigue. We will be effective but quick in July so that summer can be more easily enjoyed. Murica!
